  1. What a great gift for our Doctor

  2. I ordered this product for my wedding and needless to say it was one of the star attractions. The quality and workmanship that’s gone into this is second to none. I will be buying more!

  3. I couldn’t wait for it to arrive to see if it was as nice as the pictures showed and it was. I showed this to my co-workers and 2 of them ordered one for themselves. My son loved it on Christmas morning, and received so many complements at work the next day . If your looking for something different this is it.

  4. This was a pretty awesome gift. The kid loved it! I was very happy with the quality and plan to order another one for my soon-to-be stepson as his groomsmen gift (he’s 13 and loved the bow tie as well).

  5. Item arrived promptly and in excellent condition recipient lived the gift.

  6. My son loved his tie. He received it for Christmas and will be wearing it this week, he can’t wait!!! The tie was delivered ahead of the scheduled delivery time and was packaged nicely. Also I had several delivery questions, as I was ordering so close to Christmas, and spoke with their customer service and they were very courteous and helpful! Very satisfied!

  7. The bow tie came faster than expected. The packaging was elegant and perfect for a wooden bow tie. The skyline was legitimate for Mpls. My only two minus points are as follows: The wood seemed a little thin. I wish we had the chance to choose the pattern on the skyline ties.

Otherwise, very happy with the product.

  8. I hesitantly purchased this tie for my husband whom is very conservative,, opionated and difficult to please. To my surprise he loved it. Thanks

  9. It looks great however the Toronto skyline looks more like Seattle. The main ball of the CN Tower needs to be higher in the bow tie. You should consult more Toronto skyline photos.

  10. Cyber Monday allowed me to purchase something unique and made here in the USA! He is very excited to wear it. And now no matter where he ends up he will always have his home city close to his heart.

The change in the season definitely calls for some new pieces to incorporate into your wardrobe, but make sure you’re not just thinking of long sleeve shirts and sweaters. Our line of hardwood lapel flowers and wooden bow ties comes with some pieces that are sure to give your fall wardrobe a touch that is unique and appealing. Our Marion wooden bow tie and Hampton lapel flower are all about warmth. Both pieces are crafted from Walnut wood for a look that is sophisticated and bold. Our Marion wooden bow tie features Maple strips inlayed throughout the tie for just a touch of intrigue. The yellow and grey centers of each piece coordinate perfectly, and are sure to complement a variety of looks this fall.

Few pieces exemplify autumn quite like our Clarence wooden bow tie. Rosewood is cut to create a horizontal grain, then given a dark polish before it is sanded by hand for a finish that is warm, striking, and beautiful. The trendy brown plaid centerpiece adds just the right touch of spark to such an intriguing piece. It’s just the touch of dandy you need.

If bold colors are the theme of the autumn season, then our Portland wooden lapel flower is just the piece for you. Deep Rosewood comes together with a vibrant orange centerpiece to create a look that is easy on the eyes, yet still bold in its style. This wooden lapel flower features small, rounded petals to help draw all attention to the beautiful grain of the Rosewood and the pop of the fabric center.

A navy suit is a must have for the Fall season, and our Concord wooden lapel flower is the perfect accent piece. White Oak wood and a deep purple fabric centerpiece merge together to create a beautiful spark that adds a just right touch to your ensemble. This wooden lapel is sure to guarantee you several complements for your dashing style.

Few colors stand out for Fall like red. It’s bold, beautiful, and warm. Our Calvin wooden bow tie and Hartford wooden lapel flower are the perfect pairing to display this beloved autumn hue. The Hartford pairs White Oak wood with a bold red centerpiece. The petals of this boutonniere offer a unique, appealing pattern. Next to the Calvin’s bright red stripes and handsome shedua wood, it creates a pair that is as brilliant as it is beautiful.

A Great Gatsby Wedding

Posted on 5th May 2014

The Great Gatsby has enticed and entranced us for decades. The recent release of the movie with Leonardo DiCaprio was a fresh reminder of why this book has captured our attention and imaginations. It gives vintage a whole new beauty and allure, and it makes the perfect style for a wedding.

gatsby-1

A Great Gatsby styled wedding is vintage, sophisticated, and bold, with rich accents and vintage jewelry, dapper style, and elegant lines. The bride and groom in this Gatsby themed wedding beautifully captured the style of the book.

gatsby-2

A lush, natural setting is the perfect backdrop for this Gatsby styled wedding, paying homage to the bold, vintage style, while providing a pleasant contrast to the cream and ivory tones throughout.

gatsby-3

The groom’s wooden bow tie of choice for this momentous occasion was the Floyd. The grey fabric aligned nicely to the groom’s cream colored tux, and the dark hardwood stands out against such a light background. The result is simple, elegant, and beautiful.

gatsby-4

The groom wasn’t the only one to wear such fine hardwood for this Gatsby styled wedding. The groomsmen wore the Clyde another of our wooden bow ties made from a dark hardwood.

This Gatsby styled wedding is vintage, elegant, and sophisticated, a bold reminder that you can indeed repeat the past, and that it is beautiful.

WAREhaus Dallas: The Fashion Haus

Posted by Lacey Wilcox on 26th Jul 2014

If you live in Dallas, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed by the many options available for men’s clothing. While we are sure there are an abundance of stores that offer high quality, stylish clothing for well-dressed gentlemen all over the metroplex, let us make your choice simple: WAREhaus Dallas is the only men’s clothing store you need to visit.

WAREhaus Dallas began in September of 2012 under the direction of trendsetter Patrick Ware. From the first day they opened their doors, they have pushed to create a man-driven fashion haus with a focus on building relationships and providing unique, cutting edge pieces to Dallas.

Patrick’s vision should be enough to help you decide to choose WAREhaus for all of your fashion needs. With WAREhaus, you are guaranteed to find the highest quality, most unique clothing and styles available. Each cutting edge piece is selected with care, guaranteed to provide you with the most unique fashion options around the metroplex (and beyond). WAREhaus was also built upon a commitment to customer service. Patrick grew up in a home where hospitality was a part of everyday life. He wants the men who come into his clothing store to feel like they are actually walking into his home.

Your first step inside WAREhaus is a reminder that you aren’t entering another cookie-cutter men’s clothing store in Dallas. You are entering a man’s fashion haus that offers you nothing but the highest quality, most unique cutting edge pieces around. We’ve loved the way Patrick has integrated our wooden bow ties and lapel flowers throughout his store.

Because WAREhaus Dallas celebrates unique fashion, Two Guys Bow Ties is a great addition to the store (how many wooden bow ties and lapel flowers do you see in any of those other men’s clothing stores you’ve visited?). Just as we seek to provide craftsmanship into every wooden bow tie we make, Patrick seeks to provide only the highest quality clothing and accessories to his customers. It’s a great fit, and we love getting to partner with Patrick and WAREhaus Dallas.

If you want to read more about WAREhaus Dallas and Two Guys Bow Ties (as well as see Patrick wearing one or our wooden bow ties well), check out this recent mention by D Magazine. For those of you who don’t live in Dallas but still want access to unique, cutting edge fashion pieces, they will soon be launching their new website: WAREhaus Dallas.

Styling Two Guys Bow Ties: Garcon a la Mode

Posted on 5th Aug 2014

We’ve had the opportunity to work with some incredibly fashion and style bloggers. We love the way each one gives our wooden bow ties and lapels a distinct style and look. One of our most recent faves came from the stylish Perkens Bien Aimé of Garcon a la Mode. If you follow him on Instagram, you’ll notice that he has incorporated our wooden bow ties and lapels into several different outfits. The results are unique, appealing, and inspiring. We recently sat down with Perkens to talk about his site as well as his love for Two Guys Bow Ties.

2GBT: Why the name, Garcon a la Mode?

GA: When I decided to start the blog I wanted it to be something that defines the essence of who I am, not just in fashion, but in life. I recognize and appreciate style in everything. It’s a way of life for me. I also wanted it in french to pay homage to my roots as a Carib, as it is also my first language. “Garcon” means young man or man and “à la mode” means “style aware”. I couldn’t have chosen a better name.

2GBT: Can you share a bit about your site, Garconalamode.com. What sets the style that you share there apart from other fashion sites?

GA: “Garcon a la mode” is true to who I am. I have a unique way of mixing colors together and adding the right accessories to complete my outfits. I look for unique statement pieces but also versatile that can easily be incorporated in my daily routine. I think some of us get too caught up on trends and the most current and hip brands out there. To me, it’s all an art; the construction of a blazer, the length of my trousers, the tie knot that I choose, the fold of a pocket square, the effect of color combos etc.. It’s the minor details. I think that’s what sets me apart.

My ultimate goal is to be an inspiration to others, a guide to the young man who doesn’t quite know how to put a proper look together, but also attract the fellow style blogger who is looking for inspiration. I have some other projects in the works which will allow me to turn it into a full site that caters to the modern gentleman.

2GBT: We first reached out to you because your style in Garcaonalamode is spot on. How did you enter the fashion world?

GA: Being exposed to fashion at a very young age and being an art lover have helped me tremendously. I was always conscious about what I wore as a young teenager. I can remember looking forward to Sunday service to wear a new tie that I thrifted or a new blazer.. That was way before instagram or the blog. I think that’s where it all started and I think I’ve been able to evolve and become more creative, confident and daring. I moved to Los Angeles to pursue my dreams as a Fashion Designer and this city really inspired me to showcase my style through social media and blogging and that’s how I created Garcon a la mode.

2GBT: When we first approached you about wearing our ties and lapels, what about the products appealed to you?

GA: I’m all about unique statement pieces. The pieces that I choose to wear have to be the perfect addition to my outfits without taking away from the look. It has to make sense and have the perfect balance. The uniqueness of the product was what appealed to me.

2GBT: We were really humbled and excited to see that you’ve worn our lapel flower several different times. Do you have a favorite ensemble that pairs with it?

GA: Yes, I love pairing brown and navy. It’s classy but edgy at the same time. These wooden bow ties and lapels work perfectly with both.

2GBT: What tips would you give Two Guys Bow Tie wearers for styling their own wooden bow ties and lapel flowers?

GA: They are perfect statement pieces that can be worn smartly and casually. They’re really easy to style. It’s always better to use light colored shirt if you want to use your wooden bow tie as statement piece. And be confident when you rock these babies, you’ll get showered with compliments. I promise!

African Zebrawood:

Posted by Lacey Wilcox on 1st Jul 2014

Sought out for its beautiful black and creamy striped grain, African Zebrawood is an instantly recognizable and popular choice of lumber among woodworkers. Its beautiful, contrasting pattern makes it the perfect backdrop for many pieces, and it has been found to grace tables, floors, books, drums, and even knife handles.

{Photo Credit}

The African Zebrawood is native to the forests of Southwest Cameroon. Its height is almost as distinguished as its grain: it can tower up to 40 meters above the trees surrounding it. Sometimes called Zebrano, African Zebrawood is strong and stiff. Its popularity, however, comes from its incredible, bold coloring.

{Photo Credit}

While hardwoods can often run together and begin to look the same, this exotic hardwood makes its mark. Its unique wood grain can appear in different ways, depending upon how it is sawn. In flat sawn zebrawood, the stripes will be wavy. In quarter sawn wood, the stripes will take on a much more uniform appearance.

This exotic hardwood is bold, beautiful, and distinct. In order to give the wood grain center stage, we sand it carefully, starting out with a lower grit paper and then moving up until we reach a perfect appearance. We finish it with teak oil to help the unique grain pattern stand out. Its striking pattern creates a bow tie worth remembering, as evidenced in our Clive wooden bow tie. In this wooden bow tie, we pair the striking black and cream pattern of the Zebrawood with a grey denim centerpiece. It creates a look that is almost as striking as the Zebrawood itself: subtle, yet distinct. It’s the perfect piece to dress up or down: a staple in any gentlemen’s wardrobe.

If the Clive isn’t for you, the Mr. T wooden bow tie is an attractive piece that features this exotic hardwood. Simple, striking, and easy on the eyes, the black and cream stripes of the African Zebrawood pair perfectly with a trendy brown leather piece. It’s a staple item that will never let you down. We pity the fool that doesn’t appreciate this piece.

Our Most Popular Wooden Men’s Accessories

Posted by Two Guys Bow Ties on 25th Mar 2016

We often get asked the question when a customer of ours is looking for a gift for a friend or family member, “What are some of your most popular styles?” So we thought we’d take a few moments and answer that question for you guys!

First up, is our line of Wood-brimmed Fedoras. Currently, we offer four different colors (navy, black, grey, and brown) in four sizes (Small, Medium, Large, and X-Large), all featuring a Walnut Wood Brim. In regards to our most popular style, we’d have to say the grey and navy ones would be at the top.

Next up, is our lines of Skyline wooden bow ties. Though we do offer a custom option for these ties (therefore any wood type we offer can be used), we offer four specific wood species as main products on our website. These include: Sapele, Walnut, Maple, and Padauk. Though our most popular wood type is Walnut (mainly due to lower cost and familiarity), our favorites are either Maple or Sapele as the engravings are a bit more consistent in visibility and wood grain.

In regards to outfit combos, some our bestsellers include: the “Arthur Combo,” “The Classic Combo,” and the “Marion Combo.” The 3-piece Arthur Combo (left) features Rosewood and Orange Crosshatch fabric. The Classic Combo (center) includes The Classic wooden bow tie made with Canary wood and Silver Silk fabric and the matching pocket square. The Marion bow tie in the third combo is considered an “inlay” wooden bow tie, which is created from two separate types of wood. This base of this style is Walnut wood, while the stripe pattern is created from Maple wood. The rest of the combo is made up of the matching Heather grey fabric and the Hampton lapel flower.

(From Left to Right: Calvin, Floyd, Harvey, Frank)

Here’s a look at a few of our most popular wooden bow ties this year. “Calvin” is one of our most popular painted styles and “Harvey” has been a favorite since the very beginning. The Bocote wood used in creating “Frank” is a sure win for anyone who loves unique and exotic wood grains, versatility for more formal affairs, and a high-end looking accessory. The “Floyd,” on the other hand, is front-etched with a plaid pattern and is easily our best-selling bow tie. It’s neutral heather grey centerpiece and walnut wood make it versatile, laid-back, and easy to match with almost any ensemble.

(From Left to Right: Jack, Winston, Emery, Francis)

The most recently launched styles are shown above. Jack is our newest addition to our stock wooden bow tie collection, as the last three were all welcomed at the same time. They’ve been very well received as all four of them continue to climb their way to the top of our list of most popular bow ties.

(From Left to Right: Charleston, Cambridge, Jamestown)

Our lapel flowers have a handful of different petal designs as well as wood types. Currently we offer them in: Maple, White Oak, Wenge, Walnut, Rosewood, Padauk, and Purple Heart wood. At the top of our favorites are easily the all-wood type “Jamestown” made with Walnut, the Rosewood and Navy center “Charleston,” and the bright 8-petal “Cambridge” in White Oak.

  1. This bow tie is a thing of beauty from the packaging down to the laser etched design on the wood. These bow ties are very well made and turn heads anytime I wear them. A lot of time and craftsmanship went into making these, and I really appreciate it. Great job guys.
  2. Love the design and how it was shipped. The fresh wood smell and detail on the tie is immaculate. Definitely a great buy.
  3. Good tie, Good style.

-1pt for for not being able to swap out the gray cloth for any option I have at home. It should be tied onto the wood instead of glued.

  4. Great gift for my boyfriend who loves bowties. This one is unique, and high quality. The plaid etching hones in on his personal style, while the option to engrave the back added a personal touch. It’s a gift he will keep and get use out of for a long time!
  5. I bought this to wear to a wedding. Matched my suite perfectly. People loved it… until they found out it was wood… then they adored it and couldn’t get over how epic it was. I had 8 babes by the end of the night…. definitely a babe catcher.
  6. The perfect Christmas gift for my son in law, who loves bow ties.
  7. I brought the phloyd bow tie for my wedding. We absolutely love it and very impressed with the product and was delivered quickly to Australia! Natalie handled my order and she was a great help and patient throughout the process!

Hardwood Feature: White Oak

Posted by Lacey Wilcox on 28th Dec 2014

We’re proud American craftsmen at Two Guys Bow Ties, and try to pay homage to the grand ole USA in anyway possible. Many of our handcrafted, hardwood products take their names from great American cities, landmarks, and historic personalities. That’s one of the reasons we decided to use white oak for many of our hardwood accessories, like our Earl (pictured below).

White oak is about as American as a wood can be. Its acorns were once a food source for Native Americans. And years later the USS Constitution was built from it. If you’re not up on your naval history, you probably know that ship by its other name:  Old Ironsides. Built to stave off the Barbary pirates of the Mediterranean—American Hero, Paul Revere made its bolts and breasthooks—Old Ironsides outlasted similar vessels, remaining seaworthy to this day. White oak is a pretty special, hardwearing tree whose wood we’d be crazy not to use while on this quest to bring back true American craftsmanship.

U.S. Naval History and Heritage Command

Speaking of American crafts, white oak was Gustav Stickley’s favorite wood. Stickley was the originator of the “American Craftsman” style we’re all so familiar with in wood working circles today. The godfather of the American Arts & Crafts movement chose white oak to be the bearer of his legacy.

Another fine-crafted, truly American article owes its perfection to white oak—bourbon. Bourbon’s a Southern American whiskey thought to have been brought to the new world by Scots who’d have likely made something that tasted more like Scotch whisky if it weren’t for North America’s different ingredients. Instead of barley, wheat, and rye; Americans used a corn mash. Once the whiskey is aged inside a new charred white oak barrel, it’s ready to become the backbone of your old-fashioned.

We love using white oak for all the same reasons as those who’ve come before us. It’s a historic wood that’s made its mark on the American identity. White oak is the wood of American artisanship, and we’ve been honored to be able to use it on our Earl and Chester wooden bow ties, as well as several lapel pins: including the CambridgeDeerfield, and Concord.  Most recently, we thought it appropriate to use it for some of our own stylish furniture on our Mammoth Valet Tray.

Start a fire, put a wooden bow tie and lapel pin on, pour a bourbon, have a seat in your early century American chair, and toast all those who came before’s brilliant use of white oak.
