Now all his friends think I’m the best girlfriend for giving such a great gift 🙂 Every material is the highest quality, the orange color coordinates with more than you’d think, and my boyfriend says even though he can feel the wood occasionally against his neck it’s actually very comfortable. Would definitely recommend this product and company to everyone.

If you have an upcoming wedding, one of your responsibilities as the groom is to choose a gift for your groomsmen. Your wedding may be fast approaching, and chances are you don’t have any idea what groomsmen gifts to buy. We’re going to help get you through this wedding season though. We’ve already laid out a groom’s wedding responsibilities guide, but now we want to focus on some of the other details. This groomsmen gift giving guide will make hooking your groomsmen up with great gifts as easy as pie.

We think choosing gifts for groomsmen that they can wear is your best bet. The key is to choose groomsmen gifts that play to their unique brand of dapper style. But choosing gifts that your groomsmen will wear is your chance to be remembered as the most thoughtful groom they know.

  1. Watches – We think watches are a great groomsmen gift because they’re something your fellas will wear and use all year long. If most of your groomsmen are gents of the well-dressed variety you’ll have an easy job. You can find great watches around the $100-mark and probably cheaper if you look hard. Go with something classic for the most versatility—leather band, solid color face, 3-hands, day & date. Anything more and you run the risk of gifting a ticking paperweight.
  2. Kicks – Now we’re getting into that two-birds-with-one-stone territory. It’s always a great idea to give your groomsmen a gift that they’ll wear in your wedding. A unique pair of shoes can identify them as members of your wedding party and they should also be smart enough to utilize afterwards. We don’t know what your budget or style is but you could go top-shelf with all that oil money and score you groomsmen some custom leather cowboy boots. Or do something more relaxed like Tom’s or our all-time favorite sneaker to dress up or down with—Adidas Sambas.
  3. Wooden Bow Tie, Pocket Square, Lapel Flower – We have another two-birds-with-one-stone option for you because we know you’re as efficient as you are dapper. Another great wearable gift for your groomsmen is a dapper accessory like a wooden bow tie or unique pocket square to be worn above the waist on your wedding day. Hardwood accessories like a wooden bow tie or handcrafted lapel flower are always a good option because groomsmen can wear them after the wedding. A unique, hardwood accessory like a wooden bow tie, pocket square, or lapel flower is useful for dates, interviews, sales pitches, and one-upping your co-workers with dapper style.

Of course you already know we’re the authority on item no. 3. So be sure and shop our hardwood accessories for the perfect groomsmen gifts. Sought out for its beautiful black and creamy striped grain, African Zebrawood is an instantly recognizable and popular choice of lumber among woodworkers. Its beautiful, contrasting pattern makes it the perfect backdrop for many pieces, and it has been found to grace tables, floors, books, drums, and even knife handles.

The African Zebrawood is native to the forests of Southwest Cameroon. Its height is almost as distinguished as its grain: it can tower up to 40 meters above the trees surrounding it. Sometimes called Zebrano, African Zebrawood is strong and stiff. Its popularity, however, comes from its incredible, bold coloring.

While hardwoods can often run together and begin to look the same, this exotic hardwood makes its mark. Its unique wood grain can appear in different ways, depending upon how it is sawn. In flat sawn zebrawood, the stripes will be wavy. In quarter sawn wood, the stripes will take on a much more uniform appearance.

This exotic hardwood is bold, beautiful, and distinct. In order to give the wood grain center stage, we sand it carefully, starting out with a lower grit paper and then moving up until we reach a perfect appearance. We finish it with teak oil to help the unique grain pattern stand out. Its striking pattern creates a bow tie worth remembering, as evidenced in our Clive wooden bow tie. In this wooden bow tie, we pair the striking black and cream pattern of the Zebrawood with a grey denim centerpiece. It creates a look that is almost as striking as the Zebrawood itself: subtle, yet distinct. It’s the perfect piece to dress up or down: a staple in any gentlemen’s wardrobe.

We often get asked the question when a customer of ours is looking for a gift for a friend or family member, “What are some of your most popular styles?” So we thought we’d take a few moments and answer that question for you guys!

                                      

First up, is our line of Wood-brimmed Fedoras. Currently, we offer four different colors (navy, black, grey, and brown) in four sizes (Small, Medium, Large, and X-Large), all featuring a Walnut Wood Brim. In regards to our most popular style, we’d have to say the grey and navy ones would be at the top.

 

Next up, is our lines of Skyline wooden bow ties. Though we do offer a custom option for these ties (therefore any wood type we offer can be used), we offer four specific wood species as main products on our website. These include: Sapele, Walnut, Maple, and Padauk. Though our most popular wood type is Walnut (mainly due to lower cost and familiarity), our favorites are either Maple or Sapele as the engravings are a bit more consistent in visibility and wood grain. 

In regards to outfit combos, some our bestsellers include: the “Arthur Combo,” “The Classic Combo,” and the “Marion Combo.” The 3-piece Arthur Combo (left) features Rosewood and Orange Crosshatch fabric. The Classic Combo (center) includes The Classic wooden bow tie made with Canary wood and Silver Silk fabric and the matching pocket square. The Marion bow tie in the third combo is considered an “inlay” wooden bow tie, which is created from two separate types of wood. This base of this style is Walnut wood, while the stripe pattern is created from Maple wood. The rest of the combo is made up of the matching Heather grey fabric and the Hampton lapel flower.

Here’s a look at a few of our most popular wooden bow ties this year. “Calvin” is one of our most popular painted styles and “Harvey” has been a favorite since the very beginning. The Bocote wood used in creating “Frank” is a sure win for anyone who loves unique and exotic wood grains, versatility for more formal affairs, and a high-end looking accessory. The “Floyd,” on the other hand, is front-etched with a plaid pattern and is easily our best-selling bow tie. It’s neutral heather grey centerpiece and walnut wood make it versatile, laid-back, and easy to match with almost any ensemble.

The most recently launched styles are shown above. Jack is our newest addition to our stock wooden bow tie collection, as the last three were all welcomed at the same time. They’ve been very well received as all four of them continue to climb their way to the top of our list of most popular bow ties.

Our lapel flowers have a handful of different petal designs as well as wood types. Currently we offer them in: Maple, White Oak, Wenge, Walnut, Rosewood, Padauk, and Purple Heart wood. At the top of our favorites are easily the all-wood type “Jamestown” made with Walnut, the Rosewood and Navy center “Charleston,” and the bright 8-petal “Cambridge” in White Oak.

  2. I bought this to go with my wooden bow tie for special occasions. When it arrived I was immediately pleased with the quality and over all appearance. So I put it on a smart jacket and it looked the part and very well with it’s brother bow tie.
    Then I tried it on a more of a winter coat and it looked well there too. I was afraid it might look like a broach but it is clearly a flower so no problems there. It is not overtly obvious but once somebody spots it they are all questions. I feel more a gentleman now as a result.
